"The more I tried to make sense to them, the less I made sense to me. I had to stop explaining, stop justifying, and just start being."
-Solange
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
-Maya Angelou

f o r w a r d (the mantra)
Who I was made space for, who I am becoming.
Every version of me was necessary—every pause, every shift, every moment of stillness.
The world does not get to define me in my becoming.
I do not rush back.
I do not move for the sake of movement.
I am intentional. I am here. I am steady.
I have seen myself in the stillness, and I am worth the wait.
This is not a return, it is a continuation.
And I am still moving forward.

A Dope Black Girl With Anxiety was created as a space to explore my inner thoughts and pursue my passions. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of those who subscribe to this space (especially during my hiatus), follow my neuro-thoughts, and provide words of encouragement along the way.
